The Lake District hotel ranks No. 30 in the prestigious annual awards, as voted for by Condé Nast Traveller readers
6 October 2026…// AA Five Red Star Lake District hotel Langdale Chase, part of the Thwaites collection of inns and hotels, has been named among the UK’s best hotels in the Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards 2026, ranking No. 30 in this year’s list.
The annual Readers’ Choice Awards celebrate the hotels, destinations and travel experiences most highly rated by Condé Nast Traveller’s readers, with the results based on votes from the publication’s UK readership. Langdale Chase’s inclusion sees the hotel once again recognised by travellers among the country’s leading places to stay.
Situated on the banks of Lake Windermere, Langdale Chase has become one of the Lake District’s most recognised luxury hotels following its multi-million-pound restoration and reopening in 2023. The latest accolade follows a series of national recognitions for the hotel, including being named in The Sunday Times’ 50 Best Places to Stay 2026 and as one of The Telegraph’s 250 Best Hotels in the UK, where it was also awarded one of just 18 Regional Star accolades, as well as being award AA Inspectors’ Choice 5 Red Stars for 2026 – 2027.

Set directly on the shores of Windermere, the 30-room Grade II listed property has seven spacious suites, five dog-friendly rooms, a two AA Rosette restaurant, art deco-style bar and cinema room. Guests can also make the most of its lakeside setting through paddle boarding, guided hiking and wild swimming, alongside sailings aboard Albatros, the hotel’s beautifully restored 1920s motor yacht.
